Then after some good work on the right, a cross found Joshua Ruff who with a pocket rocket forced their keeper into action with a good save. Minutes later a harmless free kick to the opposition just inside our half, was lofted into our box and after a helpful flick to the far post was put into the back of the net to give the visitors the lead.
Bedworths response was swift and decisive. A free kick on the right was taken by Alex Platt, who played a perfect pass into the path of Mark Withers who after beating a defender with a dummy put the ball under the keeper to level the scores.
Half Time 1 - 1.
Bedworth started to control the game more and more but some dogged resistance from the visitors back four meant the the chance were drying up
Then a glimmer of hope. Some good one touch football from Arron Troop and Alex Platt, sent Mark Withers through only to see his shot go inches wide. A corner to Bedworth saw Matty Lee climb the highest but his header was just over the bar.
Ringing the changes, James Thorpe came on for Danny Wright, Alex
Gadsby for Alex Platt and Kyle Baxter on for Mark Withers.
The new front line of Alex Gadsby and Arron Troop nearly paid off as
Arrons shot on the turn was fumbled by the visitors keeper.
Bedworth were now throwing more and more men forward and were nearly
caught out on the counter, except for some great defending by Mathew Lee
and the whole of the back four catching them off side. Final
Result 1 -1.
The game was mainly our attack against their defence, but they will be a
lot happier with the point than us. On a good not I think we would have
settled unbeaten in 3 league games at the start of the season.
