The Greenbacks youth travelled to Boldmere still on a high after their first victory over Alvechurch, on another wet night the greenbacks started brightly with Arron Troop attacking the left hand side when he was brought down just outside the box but the free kick was tamely hit at the keeper., Alex Platt twisting and turning caused havoc in the Boldmere defence and Sam Bircher strong as ever and troop testing the keeper but could not get the brake through.

It was after 20 minutes that Boldmere got their first chance from a free kick on the edge of the box but they shot well wide of the target. Then Bircher with some great play burst into the box and just as he was about to shoot was brought down , the referee had no hesitation to point to the spot Alex plat place the ball on the spot then blasted over.

With the greenbacks creating loads of chances were trying to walk the ball into the net but bad shots and good tackles from the Boldmere defence kept us at bay just before half time Boldmere has a chance with their forward bursting through but Aron Formaston stopped them with a great well timed tackle
The first ten minutes after the break were a bit scrappy with both sides battling it out in the middle of the park, as the half went on the greenbacks took control and chance after chance fell but no break through , then a short corner was eventually crossed, the ball fell to Jack Coulton who powered his shot through the six yard box into the net.

Boldmere launched high balls into the box but the defence stood firm , only once did Boldmere look as if the had broken through but Troop cleared off the line on reflection it was a deserved win but we must find the net more often especially with all the chances we create.
