BEDWORTH United picked up a £60 fine after their late-kick-off at AFC Sudbury but manager Bernie Cope was happy to take the hit after watching his side battle out a 0-0 draw.
We left much later than planned, he explained, because so many players couldn't make it for 4.00pm. We were still missing four regulars but it could have been a lot worse.
Cope, who braved the notorious A14 speed cameras to ferry one latecomer to Suffolk, explained: We got there at 7.15pm so we were fined for submitting a late team-sheet and delaying the start for five minutes or so, but it was worth it.
It was our only chance of getting a team on to the park and we played really well. We bossed the game, especially in the last half-hour, and we might well have won it.
